Yodasnews.com staff member Hero25 shares his trip to Dragon Con 2005

Dragon Con 2005 September 1 - 5.  Atlanta GA.

I arrived on Thursday night Sept 1.  We were a bit late because we had family staying at the house who had to evacuate from Hattiesburg MS after the hurricane.  We got our badges and just walked around and looked at the people in costume.

Friday we got up and went and ate with fellow club members from our local Fan club, "Fountain City Force".  Me and Buffy made our way to the dealers tables and just browsed for awhile.  I got Peter Meyhews autograph and Buffy got Luminara Undalla's.  I had to leave Friday to go to Macon and do a quick show with my band "Joey Allcorn and the Hillbilly band".

Saturday morning we got up and went to the parade.  There was not as many 501st members there this year, because of Celebration III, I guess people were still recovering financially from that event.  Here are some pictures from the parade.

After the parade we went and ate at the Hard Rock Cafe.  Then it was off to Steve Sansweet's track.  It was pretty cool, he talked about the DVD coming out for ROTS and showed us a deleted scene.  It was one of three senator scenes with Mon Monthma, and it was very vital to the story, I don't understand why they deleted it.  Also he showed preview for some new video games.  He also confirmed the rumor about the Holiday Special coming out on DVD.  "George Lucas hates it and it will never be released" is what he said.   He also talked about the 3-D clone wars animation series and the live action TV. show.  Nothing is in stone yet, but they will start production from what he said in 2007.  This was the best track in my opinion, and the only one I was really interested in.  Saturday night me and Buffy went to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer prom, which is always fun.  The highlights were the dancing cardboard robots, and some nerdy white kid dressed as a Team Zisou member.

Sunday we went to a tattoo track and body piercing track which was interesting.  This great tattoo artist Cap was there sharing his work.  We left Sunday, but not before meeting Lloyd Kaufman of Troma and getting a picture with him and a Trommette.  The Crux Shadows played Sunday night but we had to get home and missed that.

I am not sure what all went on after that, sorry......

Sorry my report is not that in depth, it is more of a diary of my trip to Dragon Con.  If you are interested in going I highly suggest it.  There is something for everyone there.  For more info check out the official site dragoncon.org
